Artist's Description

Mission Walkway, San Juan Capistrano was captured on one of our annual trips to the area. While exploring the grounds of this beautiful old mission, I came across this hallway and was struck by the colors and the perspective.

Mission San Juan Capistrano was a Spanish mission in Southern California, located in present-day San Juan Capistrano. It was founded on All Saints' Day November 1, 1776, by Spanish Catholics of the Franciscan Order.

Photo Impressionism* is a hand-applied technique on an original Polaroid photograph. The effect is created by the photographer shortly after taking a photograph with an SX-70 Polaroid camera using the "Time Zero" film. The photographer turns into an artist by using special tools to paint with the emulsion inside the photo envelope. The emulsion remains soft enough to be blended, mixed, and distorted by the artist. This effect creates a painted impressionistic look to each photograph.
