Artist's Description

Santa Barbara Sunrise was taking during a spectacular sunrise.

Photo Impressionism* is a hand-applied technique on an original Polaroid photograph. The effect is created by the photographer shortly after taking a photograph with an SX-70 Polaroid camera using the "Time Zero" film. The photographer turns into an artist by using special tools to paint with the emulsion inside the photo envelope. The emulsion remains soft enough to be blended, mixed, and distorted by the artist. This effect creates a painted impressionistic look to each photograph.

*Note: The image has a SOFT focus; this is another part of the intended "Impressionism" effect. The original 3" x 3" square photograph is scanned at a very high resolution. Glenn then spends hours on each piece, inspecting all of the details in each area of the photo looking for imperfections and refining the color of the final product.
