Christmas Day Hotel Del Coronado was captured during a sunset walk along the beach to the Hotel Del Coronado. The beach was crowed with hundreds of people enjoying the beautiful sunset. The people were edited out with my process described below.
New Art Creations By Glenn McNary using the latest's technology on my Galaxy Note cell phone tablet. Most of my past work was created using Polaroid film and a metal stylus to move the emulsion inside the film envelope to create a painted effect. The Galaxy Note is equipped with a pressure sensitive surface, 13 mega pixel camera and a custom stylus. The Note surface is about the same size as the Polaroid film and seemed the perfect new medium to use with the stylus. Using my stylus and a PhotoShop app on my phone, I am able to blend the pixels with the stylus by hand to recreate the effect I have been using for the past 15 years. The painted look is totally created by hand using my stylus, I spend hours on each piece, touching, blending and working on every area of the photo. I do not use preloaded filters (watercolor, color pencil) that are easy to press a button and create the painted look. I do use contrast, brightness, saturation, layers and my skills to add to my handmade painted effect.
